Do you ever feel so frustrated that the thought of breaking something to get out all of your frustrated energy sounds amazing?
In my city of Edmond, there is a place called Break Room 405 and this facility is all about breaking stuff to your hearts content.
I had the pleasure, at a luncheon, to meet the owner Tiffany Donovan, who, alongside her husband, opened this magical place. At this specific luncheon, everyone attending had 60 seconds to introduce their business. When she described this kingdom of freedom and hulk smashery, I knew I needed to take my kids and I to relieve some of our stress.
While you are here, you can purchase extra amenities you might need like disposable protective wear, canvases, or additional baskets of breakables. It is up to you. We were sure to follow all the recommended rules to engage in these activities safely. My kids are 12 and 7, so I could only take my 12-year-old into the break room (the starting age for this activity is 12). My youngest was able to participate in the splatter room so we chose to do both the Splatter Room and Smash Alley.
Below I wanted to give you my description of the rooms we chose and our experiences!
Splatter room:

This is where we got to explore our artistic side. This room is open for you to channel anything, relax, and put paint to canvas. I encouraged my kids to tap into their “inner Picasso”. I do want to point out it would be best to wear clothes you do not mind getting some paint on since this is an activity with kids and paint. The best part is they offer the option to synchronize your phone to their stereo so that you can jam out to whatever music suites your mood. It was funny to see how awkward we were at first trying to let lose but once we did, it was a fun bonding experience!
Smash alley:
This is the alternative of a real “break room” set up for the youngsters. As a parent, I am glad that this is an option and what we chose to start with. I was for sure we would have no problem letting go of the junk against the wall and go wild to try and hit a bullseye. In all actually it took a little bit to let our wild side out but eventually, we got the hang of it. We found that beer bottles are not so easy to break, and they actually bounced like a ball when we hit them. At the end, I bought another basket of breakables and we had so much fun laughing at each other.
Recommendation:
Only one minute after leaving this facility my kids were already asking about when we could go back again so needless to say, we will be back. This place has family fun and bonding written all over it and I 10 out of 10 recommend checking it out!
