How is one supposed to feel after doing a 7-day Charka Yoga Challenge? Well I can tell you from my experience that I definitely do feel different, but I have been analyzing to determine different in what way? I have to admit I continue to be intrigued with this practice trusting the process while in the moment and then later after really analyzing what I have been feeling I wonder if one must continue to do the movements to keep these changes and if that is true how often is ideal?

After completing my first 7-day Chakra Yoga Challenge I was curious about the improvements I felt and wanted to know more about what chakras do, and where I should prioritize my focus related to Chakra Yoga.

What I learned through research and practice I have broken down to provide a listed overview of each chakra. First, I will give you what I know so far to define each Chakra and describe the associated energy point/energy center in the body and present how each energy center is known for ancient healing connection sources that help keep the spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical health of the body in balance.

Chakra one: located in the base of the spine. Associated with survival. Element is earth. Color is red.

Chakra two: located in the lower abdomen. Associated with emotions and sexuality. Element is water

is fire. Color is orange.

Chakra three: located in the solar plexus. Associated with personal power/will/self-esteem. Element is water. Color is yellow.

Chakra four: located in the sternum. Associated with love. Element is air. Color is green.

Chakra five: located in the throat. Associated with communication and creativity. Element is sound. Color is bright blue.

Chakra six: located in the center of the forehead. Associated with clairvoyance/intuition/imagination. Element is light. Color is indigo.

Product Recommendation: [Anodea Judith PhD, wheels of life, pg. 25]

In my life I have specific areas I wish to improve on related to my mental, spiritual, and physical health, and some people are aware of healthy habits, but other people might question or have no clue what to focus on improving to enhance their health in a wholistic way.

I realized that I needed to focus and work on all 7 chakras (if I’m being totally honest). I discovered that the key to doing the movements is to focus on the location or one chakra at a time (it’s not a race be patient). Having knowledge beforehand to help identify what that chakra areas represent will boost the experience in understanding the movement flow, benefits and goals of the movement. Each movement is connected to a chakra area in the body and finding through practice your own way of tuning into your energy the movements will start to give you indications or motivate your energy towards improving specific areas you feel need work.

I recommend envisioning the element and the color that each chakra represents when you are working on that area. The imagery to me felt like a major important part to support movements achievements during your flow and even long after. (Keep in mind this is stretching, moving, and exercising, in a way that engages core muscles, stretches your throat, shoulders and aligns the spine)

What do you think I should try next? I’ve decided to open my mind to all holistic modalities and seeing where this journey will take me. Let me know in a comment or send me an email if you have some suggestions of wholistic modalities that need more attention!
