7- Day Chakra Yoga Challenge

I have officially completed two rounds the 7-Day Chakra Yoga challenge so far, and I have to say, I feel a lot more confident in my movement and flow.  You know the feeling you get when you go to try something new, not knowing if you’re doing it right? If you regularly participate or have ever participated in a group yoga class then you might have heard the instructor comment, “tilt your pelvis, roll your shoulders, put the weight in your heels, tighten your buns.” To me those words of guidance used to not make much sense to me relative to practice makes perfect, but it does now.

Do you stress about trying new exercises because you are in your head wondering if you’re even doing the action or move correctly? That was an issue I had. But after persisting and practicing the second time around, I was able to feel the difference and my mind and body started to better understand the movements.
This second time, I intently listened to the instructor and in my minds, eye visualized what it was I wanted to achieve while attempting the moves. I was super impressed with myself when I felt my pelvis tilt and how my body moved. I now remained more alert when I am in a sitting position.

Additionally, I now have more posture and body flow awareness related to stretching and bouncing my shoulders a few times just to ensure their release into a natural resting place. I have gained positional improvements related to holding a proper plank position that has helped me dramatically because now instead of feeling the weight on my hands and trying to keep my core tight, I put the weight where it belongs in my heels and tighten my buttocks and my core while in a posture positive tilting position.

Chakra Focused Yoga has been wonderful and my second class I have to say made a dramatic impression through the muscle memory and minor changes in position I was able to feel more in control of my body and engage in proper spine alignment techniques.

After doing some key movements, I decided to implement the recommended vocal Chakra affirmations and vowel sounds for each right chakra. After some research, this is what I believed really helped me reach a better stretch and come to understand body flow positions:

Chakra One:
Vowel sound: “uh”
Affirmation: “I am a divine being and I am safe, protected, and supported “

Chakra Two:
Vowel sound: “Ooo”
Affirmation: “I am creative. I am connected. I am loved”

Chakra Three: (trust your gut)
Vowel sound: “Ohhh”
Affirmation: “I trust my guidance and I am excited to be on my own path”

Chakra four: (knowing, intuition, if your co-dependent)
Vowel sound: “Ahhh”
Affirmation: “I am love. Love is everywhere. Love is everything.”

Chakra Five: (throat/ears)
Vowel sounds: “Eeee”
Affirmations: “’ I speak my truth kindly and clearly. I communicate easily with clarity and love.”

Chakra Six:
Vowel sounds: “Mmm”
Affirmations: “I am open to visions of the imagination and unconscious realm to flow freely in a positive vibrant light.”

Chakra Seven:
Vowel sounds: “Aaaa”
Affirmation: “I connect easily with source energy. I connect easily with my higher self.”

Now that I have experienced the joy and benefits that can be achieved with this ancient healing practice, I have added Chakra Yoga flow into my workout routine. There are many other holistic modalities I want to try. Please subscribe to my email list to receive updates on my next wholistic modality I stumble onto and try! I’m fascinated with the windows to the soul: our eyes.
